Chronology: Finally…a new theme from Storefront Themes!

When we launched Storefront Xyloto over a year ago, we saw some problems with the way we were headed with theme development. We were making some mistakes (which we’ve worked hard to correct) and were concerned with upgrading the themes whenever updates were released to WordPress and more specifically the WP eCommerce plugin.

Fast-forward a year later, and suffice it to say that we’ve learned a lot. Frankly, we learned a lot from developing our own framework called Skematik.

We’ve taken what we learned in Skematik and are applying it to every theme we have moving forward…

• Based on _s (http://underscores.me) for maximum WordPress compatibility
• All options in the new Theme Customizer
• Automatic Updates
• All scripts and styles enqueued properly
• Throughly test with the Theme Check plugin and WP_Debug

With that in mind, let me introduce you to Chronology! Chronology is one of two new themes that we will release in February and packs a ton of features. In addition to what we covered above, Chronology is completely responsive, has 4 page templates, a unique homepage slider and a beautiful shop layout enhanced with CSS3 flip effects on the product images.

Not so mention, we’ve activated the built-in WordPress masonry plugin on the blog and search results!
